Respawn Entertainment have provided fans with an update on the fixes and adjustments they can expect as Apex Legends heads towards its second season.
Since its February release, Respawn Entertainment’s Apex Legends has seemingly gone from strength to strength, even hitting 50 million players faster than Fortnite Battle Royale did.
However, it appears to have hit a stagnant phase of late, as players complain of a lack of tangible new content and a number of bugs plaguing the game.
On June 14, Respawn have offered an update on known issues and how they plan to tackle them.
Early on they make clear that this list is not exhaustive and doesn’t refer to every issue that they are investigating, but players will appreciate the number of bugs that are addressed.
Pathfinder hitbox
Probably most significant is the ongoing attempts to fix the hit-box of Pathfinder, the robotic legend whose hit-box has so far proven very difficult to refine.
The update states that they have been “investigating Pathfinder’s hitbox and looking at player feedback. At Season 2 launch we’ll be making adjustments to the hitbox that we’ll talk more about closer to Season 2.”

Auto-fire exploit
Also important, they state that they will be rolling out a “two-stage” fix for auto-fire exploits relating to multiple weapons in the game, particularly the Mastiff shotgun.
The first stage is that Respawn are planning to make server adjustments that will make this exploit occur far less frequently, as the server will restrict it. However, “the full fix requires a client patch that will come in the future”.
Lag and disconnects
The post also states that Respawn are rigorously investigating issues surrounding lag and disconnections, that are being reported by a number of players.
They say that they are hearing the reports “loud and clear” and will be providing further updates when they are available, but it does not appear that there is a general fix in the works at the moment.
Other topics addressed in the post include the consumable wheel appearing blank, healing items being twice as effective as they are supposed to be, and legends not appearing in banners at the end of matches.
Season 2 for Apex Legends will be released on July 2, and players will be hopeful of seeing numerous bug fixes, as well as a wealth of new content for players to dive into.
